Garry Malcolm Johnson’s paintings feature everyday household items, such as plants, fires, and shoes that are drawn into linear forms on block colour backgrounds to create these simple yet bold artworks.

The artist isolates his chosen objects by juxtaposing them with colour and space, restricting them to minimal information, in an attempt to reinvent the overlooked mundane artefact, and challenge the way we perceive the things around us.

Johnson completed his BA in Fine Art at Falmouth College of Arts, shortly after featuring in The Affordable Arts Fair 2001, He has also exhibited at The Catto Gallery, London.
