Scott Poulson’s huge prints are photographic abstractions which push light through depths of colour in order to achieve pure visual sensations. The images suggest something familiar made strange, compelling the eye and mind to explore what is represented in relation to what you already know in the real world.
Like a wildlife photographer recording the magnified minutiae of life in a coral reef, or a sudden burst of migrating birds across the sky, these images capture colour, form and shade together as if they were a single, living, breathing entity. These brilliant photographs are like liquid jewels.

Poulson has had many shows since he graduated from college, and recently exhibited work at The Nunnery gallery in the east end of London.
