Spring 2008 saw the launch of Art & Music magazine, a unique publication founded by Gemma de Cruz and David Sheppard that aims to tap into the very point at which contemporary art and independent music collide. With art direction from Alfonso Iacurci, and regular contributions from Darren Hayman, Keiron Phelan, Iphgenia Baal and Helen Sumpter, Art & Music offers a quality of writing, photography and design more readily associated with premium magazines, and bridges the gap between existing free and news stand publications.

In September, Art & Music magazine became integral to the Saatchi Gallery, and was re-branded as ‘The Saatchi Gallery Magazine Art & Music, although continued to be run by its original team, celebrating contemporary art and music with the same innovative zeal and independent spirit as before. Distributed free to one hundred key venues in the capital, including the ICA, Rough Trade Records and Roundhouse studios, it is also now available free to all visitors to the new Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, causing the magazine’s print run to be increased to 100,000.

The UK contemporary art and music scenes continue to flourish, but high-quality writing on both subjects remains scarce courtesy of the unfiltered internet and widespread broadsheet coverage. Meanwhile, major publishers struggle to cater for niche audiences. The Saatchi Gallery Magazine Art & Music has been willed to life by this changing market; high quality, impartial, informed, seen in all the right places and free!

Subscriptions for the magazine, of which there are four a year, start at just £10 and as fans of this exciting new publication, Eyestorm are offering all new subscribers to The Saatchi Gallery Magazine Art & Music 10% off any piece of art purchased through the Eyestorm website.

Thursday May 29th saw the launch of Whisper Mag, a wholly original online women’s magazine aimed at real, down-to-earth girls. With a good combination of short articles, longer features, reviews, and columns Whisper Mag celebrates a broad spectrum of everything fresh, interesting, and cool, whether it’s music, fashion, health, beauty, current events or opinion pieces.

Crucially, everything in the mag is also enriched and made interactive with links and videos, embracing the publishing industry’s recent shift towards the use of digital media.

The magazine has recently featured work by David Bray and Montana Forbes. Check out the articles at Whispermag.co.uk: here and here.

This week, Whisper mag features artwork by Lucie Bennett.

It’s aimed at those who are unwilling to waste time on bad experiences and want quality expertise on anything from finding the perfect hotel escape to choosing the best restaurant for a power lunch in a foreign city.

Eyestorm are proud to be included as Suzanne’s recommended place to buy art online.

Why Blog?
Eyestorm has been the market leader for limited edition prints since the web was in its infancy, so over time we've become pretty opinionated on a bunch of art-related issues. So while we're here to provide you with the best art you can buy, we also wanted a flexible space through which to share our experience of working in the frenetic, ever-accelerating market for contemporary art. So this is it. The Eyestorm blog. Ups, downs, news, views and reviews.
